ASL Interpreter

The volunteer for this position would be trained in ASL and able to interpret at appropriate level of need.  They would have a basic understanding of Biblical theology and be able to clearly translate Biblical theological principles into ASL when interpreting sermon.  This person would work as part of a team and communicate with other members of ministry to learn, grow, and develop skills, attend monthly meeting to connect with team, discuss sticking points, and ask for help where needed. They would also prepare for interpretation time before service reviewing material at appropriate level of interpretation and needed.

The time commitment for this position is one - two times a month (depending on availability) interpreting 10 am service at appropriate level. Approximately 1-2 hours per serving time alongside personal preparation time.

The volunteer for this position would be passionate about serving the deaf/hard of hearing community through interpretation.

Skills needed would include ASL training or skills with ability to effectively communicate through ASL at an appropriate level such as sermon (if applicable), worship song (if applicable), or announcements/Emcee (if applicable).

Special requirements are a background check and application process to determine level of skill.
