If you are curious about who Jesus is, exciting answers await you.
You are among many through the ages who have sought to understand who He is and what His story means for each person individually, and for the entire human race.
Our curiosity never ends...
One of the ways we learn about Jesus is through the Bible, the inspired "Word of God." The Bible is accessible in every form of communication, from print to websites to apps for your phone. Here are a few examples:
BibleProject
BibleProject is actually a very creative animation studio focused on making the story of the Bible accessible to everyone.
YouVersion is an app that creates biblically-centered, culturally-relevant experiences that encourage and challenge people to seek God throughout each day.
Bible Gateway is like an online search engine for the Bible where you can search terms, verses, topics and more, typically for more independent studies.
In the Bible, Jesus is documented saying and doing some amazing things. Here’s an example from a book of the Bible written by one of Jesus’ closest followers and friends, called John. In his first chapter, it says,
"Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, 'I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.'"
Sounds amazing, right? Let’s face it, there is darkness. We each have our own experience with it. Could Jesus really have the power to do something about the darkness in your life today?
In the same book of John, it says in the third chapter:
"For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son [that's Jesus!], so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him."
Here’s the Thing…
If you dive in, you'll discover so much more about Jesus, the One through whom we may find strength, hope, joy, wisdom, forgiveness, eternal life beyond this world, and so much more.
Now What?
Perhaps you may feel, as you read these words, that this is your moment for deciding to follow Jesus. In the Bible, the book of Romans, chapter ten, it says,
"If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
Belief is central to following Jesus. Sometimes it is easy, and sometimes it may be a challenge. But through belief in Jesus, we form a relationship with Him that helps lead us through life and beyond.
