What is TSM & TSM Missions?

Timberline Student Ministries (TSM) is the student ministry of Timberline Church serving middle school and high school students in Northern Colorado. We exist to lead students into transforming relationships with Jesus, leaders, and their peers by building no strings attached relationships that ultimately point to Jesus. One of the ways we accomplish this is by offering annual student mission trips.

We desperately want students to live out their full potential in the Kingdom of God and take their walk with Jesus seriously. When students practice their faith in tangible ways, they are significantly more likely to continue following Jesus through the rest of their lives. Serving on missions is one of many ways that students can make following Jesus a movement in their lives, instead of just a moment.

In 2025, we are excited to have 70+ students and adult leaders participating in two summer missions trips!

2025 Mission Trips

Please select the trip you would like to donate to below.

June 21-27, 2025

Our team of 8th-9th graders is excited to serve in the Anchorage area this summer with Praying Pelican Missions! During the extended sunlight of the summer, many local Alaskans leave their areas of residence to fish/stock their freezers, leaving local ministries without their volunteer base. TSM has the opportunity to help fill this gap by serving in local soup kitchens, packing food boxes for the underprivileged and partnering with the local church to meet community needs this summer.

June 21-27, 2025

Our team of 10th-12th grade students will be partnering with Enlace, an organization that works throughout Central America empowering local pastors and their congregations to change the world by engaging their community. TSM has the opportunity to help implement good farming practices in the local community or support clean water efforts. We will also get to come alongside our local pastor partners to visit homes and local community members.

FAQs
What if our family is interested in this for 2026?

TSM will announce our 2026 mission trips in November 2025 and host a parent information meeting in January 2026 where you’ll hear about our trips, application process, and meet our team leaders. Watch for information in November about this in TSM emails/texts or reach out to a TSM staff member!

How do TSM students prepare for missions?

Students are required to fill out an application for the trip they want to participate in. Our TSM staff thoroughly reads every application and selects our student team for each trip. Once teams are selected, we meet regularly all together throughout the spring semester for training and team building. Our goal is that by the time of the trip, students feel that they are friends with the people on their team and are prepared to effectively go out into the mission field. Training includes team building, cultural awareness training, and trip/project specific preparation. Students are also required to be involved in all fundraising opportunities. We coach them on how to write support letters for their personal fundraising, each student has a role at Dinner and a Show, and teams wash cars on Car Wash weekend.

How do tax deductible donations work?

Timberline will keep track of all donations made within a one year timeframe, and a statement will be sent to you at the end of the year for tax purposes.

  • Your giving statement is available to you anytime by accessing your Timberline account:
    • Log in to your Timberline account
    • Click on "My Giving"
    • Click on "Giving Statement"
    • Enter the information you desire, then click "Run Report"

This will produce a document showing your requested giving information that you may use for tax purposes. If you need help with a statement you can call our office and request one at (970) 482-4387.

I’m writing a check! Who should I write it to?

Make all checks out to Timberline Church, and be sure to leave the memo line blank. Tax credit cannot be given if the memo line has a specific student’s name in it. Include a sticky note or envelope with the student’s name and trip written on it so we know who to allocate the donation to. Checks can be dropped off at the Timberline Church office or mailed to:

I own a business! How can we support student missions?

We would love your support! We accept corporate sponsorships for our fundraising events and would love to feature your business. If interested, email Stephanie Spencer  to receive our official corporate sponsor donor letter. Corporate donations go directly to our project costs for trips.

I would like to give to the project fund for a trip, how can I do that?

Thank you for considering this! The form for each individual trip has an option to give either to a specific student or to the general fund. Select the box for the general fund for your donation to go into the project fund.

How can I get updates about each of these trips as they’re happening/pray for students on these trips?

We share information from our social media accounts with prayer points through the week during each trip (on Instagram and Facebook). Each trip leader will write emails throughout the week from the ground with pictures, updates, and prayer requests. If you would like to receive these emails for the trip your student is on, please email Stephanie Spencer.
