Prayers for the Lost
Read
Pray
You, Lord, are the Messiah who came to suffer and be the first to rise from the dead, preparing a place for all people to follow and share eternity in your kingdom. You want all people to be saved and to know the truth. As Luke 19:10 tells me, you came to seek and save the lost. 2nd Peter 3:9 tells me that you are patient with mankind because you do not want anyone to parish, so you give time for all to repent.
Your deep love and compassion for all people expands beyond my understanding. Your willingness to suffer so that people who have rejected you would not have to is beyond comprehension. Thank you that you do not want even one of these, whom you call your children, to remain lost. And thank you that you are patient and persistent, continuing to draw your children to you even when, to me, it would seem like a hopeless cause.
I know so many who are lost, and among my deepest desires is to see their salvation and to know I will get to share eternity in your presence with them in heaven. Lord, send your Spirit and your servants to them to open their eyes that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to you, God, and that they would receive forgiveness for their sins and a place among all others who have been sanctified in your holy kingdom. Help me to be obedient as Paul was. Let me be a servant and witness to them, sharing with them all that I have seen and know about you. I pray for ... (insert the names of your loved ones who are not yet saved.) Reveal yourself to them in such a way they are desperate to receive your saving grace.
You sent your one and only Son so that whoever believes in you would not perish but have eternal life. You did not want to condemn the world, but to save it. Save my loved ones, God. Open their hearts to believe in your Son. Let His sacrifice extend further and be known by these who I have mentioned. Save them so that you might have more glory. Save them as you sought to do when you came to Earth. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
