Gather 25 is a historic, first time ever, global gathering of the church, made possible by current technology. There are 2.5 billion Christians in the world, and 5.5 billion non-Christians. The 2.5 billion Christians have an opportunity to come together to pray, worship, repent and discover how God is moving to transform the global church through everyday people. It is a chance to hear stories of the love of Christ and carry them out as a light into the world.
For 25 hours, the global church will gather across 7 continents, including the underground church. The global church will gather in Every time zone. Every language. Every denomination. Every generation!
Why would we gather? We gather because Jesus said:
“Truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” (Matthew 18: 19-20)
If Jesus promised our Father in Heaven would do whatever two agree upon here on earth, can you imagine the impact of 2.5 billion Christians gathering in Jesus’ name asking for the Holy Spirit to move across the world to encourage and equip believers go and make disciples.
Matthew 28:19 “Go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.”
The Great Commission is the greatest calling of our Christian faith.
According to the verse above there are other reasons we would gather in Jesus’ name. Jesus promises to be with us! We gather in Jesus’ name to commune with our heavenly Father, to enjoy His presence, to offer praise and thanksgiving, and to enter a kingdom that cannot be shaken. We gather in Jesus’ name to propel prayers for the impossible and to cultivate revival. When we gather power through the Holy Spirit is given in Jesus’ name to magnify the one true God, transforming power, that transform us and others to be light in dark places. We gather to seek God’s word and His will. We gather to be fed with spiritual food. We gather because we are invited by Jesus to do so.
Earthly prophecies seem to be falling in place for the fulfillment of Jesus’ return. One prophecy that has not yet been fulfilled is that every people group has heard God’s word in their own language. The mission of the IF Gathering organization, who sponsors Gather 25, is to translate Bibles. They work with organizations like illumiNations to fund Bible translations. Since translation services are more readily available today than ever before, this prophecy could soon become a reality.
Jesus does not want to condemn anyone, but the time is coming when Jesus will return. Five and a half billion people have not heard of the forgiveness Jesus offers and his saving power. If we don’t share the good news of Jesus with others, who will? Gather 25 will be an event like no other. You won’t want to miss it, and it won’t be the same without you! If you have been praying for someone to come to Christ, or for revival, or for Jesus to return, this is the prayer and praise opportunity for you. This event is for every man, woman and child who follows Jesus! Families are welcome.
Here are the details for Gather 25:
Timberline Church will host the North America portion of this streaming event from 6:00pm – 10:00pm on Friday, February 28th in the South Auditorium. Tables will be set up to accommodate anyone who may need to pack their dinner. Coffee, teas and cookies will be provided, while the supply lasts. Please bring your Bible and a journal. To recognize the mission aspect of Gather 25, U-Count will join us.
Through the next 21 hours, Gather 25 will continue to stream from Malaysia and Romania, Rwanda, United Kingdom and Peru as well as several hours from the underground, persecuted church.
