SAVA Center - Hotline Advocate

Adult, NoCo Community
Fort Collins

Volunteers are required to complete a hybrid 40-hour crisis intervention training. Once through training, they are expected to take three shifts a month - of their choosing.  They are expected to be available to take any calls that come to the hotline during said shifts, providing emotional support, resources, & information to callers.  Advocates might also be asked to support survivors at local hospitals, if requested, and need to be willing to do so.  They also have the opportunity to attend outreach events in the community.

The time commitment for this position is three shifts/month.  Each shift is an on-call shift (so you only work if you get a call!) that stretches over 11 hours.  Volunteers choose the shifts that work for the schedule.  Shifts are available days, nights, and weekends.

A volunteer should be passionate about believing and supporting survivors and caring for their community.  Volunteers would also be an active and empathetic listener with a willingness to learn!

Volunteers must pass a background check.  They must live in Weld or Larimer Counties, have a phone with reliable service, and have access to a working vehicle.
