Larry and Rhonda Allen: Zimbabwe
ZIMBABWE — Larry and Rhonda have been with AGWM since 1997. They served over 13 years in Malawi training leaders and developing a church-based response to persons living with HIV/AIDS. In 2011, the Allens transferred to Zimbabwe (pop. 14 million), a nation that has endured years of political chaos, economic collapse, and the AIDS pandemic. They are partnering with the General Council of the Assemblies of God Zimbabwe. Drawing from 1 Corinthians 9:22 (by all means... save some...) the General Council, the Allens, and their partners will use a three-pronged approach to fulfill the mission of God in Zimbabwe:
- Evangelizing - planting churches, helping the GCAOG grow from 115 churches to 1000 by 2020.
- Educating - training pastors and church leaders to fulfill their mandate of winning the lost and discipling them.
- Empowering - engaging in compassionate ministries to reach the unreached and rejected.
Working toward an increasingly redeemed Zimbabwe!
