Pastor Search Updates

An Overview of the Pastor Search for Timberline Church

March 10, 2025 : Praying for Spiritual Strength

"The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trust in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song. The LORD is the strength of his people, a fortress of salvation for his anointed one. Save your people and bless your inheritance; be their shepherd and carry them forever." Psalm 28: 7-9 (NIV)

Please pray that during this journey we would both individually and corporately grow in our walk with the Lord. Pray that we are intentionally spending time in His Word and in prayer.

March 3, 2025 : Deacon Search Update

Timberline Church family,

We Deacons are committed and dedicated as the search team working with Vanderbloemen. They are actively reviewing resumes, holding preliminary interviews, and narrowing down our list of candidates. It’s exciting to see the progress we’ve made so far, and we’re confident that the right person God has chosen for us is out there. We’re taking this process seriously and thoughtfully, seeking God’s guidance every step of the way.

Pastor Dary and Bonnie’s last Sunday with us will be April 27, 2025. We’re excited that over the next two months, we’ll be recognizing the incredible 38 years of faithful ministry Pastor Dary has served leading Timberline as he prepares for retirement. Logistically, there is no practical way to participate in a public celebration. In lieu of a reception, there will be an opportunity to express love and appreciation with a card and/or text submission. We want to invite all of you to lift up prayers of thanksgiving to our God to recognize and honor Pastor Dary and Bonnie’s years of service, dedication, and the profound impact they have had on this church and community!

God is at work, and we trust that He’s preparing us for the next chapter. We’re excited about what’s to come. Thank you again for your patience, prayers, and support as we move forward in this search. God bless you all!

In faith,

Deacon Pastoral Search Team

February 24, 2025 : Praying for Unity

“How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity! It is like precious oil poured on the head, running down on the beard, running down on Aaron’s beard, down upon the collar of his robes. It is as if the dew of Hermon were falling on Mount Zion. For these the LORD bestows his blessing even life evermore.” Psalm 133 (NIV)

Pray that we as a church would strive to walk in unity with one another.

February 17, 2025 : A Prayer of Celebration

"Praise the LORD. How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise him." Psalm 147:1 (NIV)

Pray for the new lead pastor that God has planned for Timberline Church. When they hear about Timberline Church, may their heart resonate with the truth and assurance that God has called and equipped them for this role.

February 10, 2025 : Praying for Endurance

"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened." Matthew 7:7-8 (NIV)

Stand on God's promise in the scripture above. He hears and responds when we bring our requests before Him. Each of us needs endurance that only God can provide during this process.

February 3, 2025 : Vanderbloemen Partnership

We are excited to announce our partnership with Vanderbloemen in the search for Timberline Church’s next Senior Pastor! Vanderbloemen is a renowned faith-based executive search firm that has helped Christian organizations worldwide find key staff who align with their mission, vision, and culture. We are incredibly grateful to add their resources and expertise to our search team!

January 27, 2025 : Praying for Wisdom

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)

Join us in praying for our deacon team as they guide our church through the process of identifying our new lead pastor. Please pray for Janice, Beth, Glenn, Eric, KC, Doug, and Roger in this process.

January 20, 2025 : Praying for Spiritual Strength

“You may say to yourself, ‘My power and strength of my hands have produced wealth for me.’ But remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your forefathers, as it is today. If you ever forget the LORD your God and follow other gods and worship and bow down to them, I testify against you today that you will surely be destroyed. Like the nations the LORD destroyed before you, so you will be destroyed for not obeying the LORD your God.” Deuteronomy 8:17-20 (NIV)

May we patiently wait on the Lord in this process. Trusting that He is at work in ways that we cannot see or orchestrate.

January 13, 2025 : Praying for Unity

"I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing." John 15:5 (NIV)

Please join us in praying that we the branches would stay close to the vine, knowing that God is working out His perfect plan for Timberline Church as we wait for a new lead pastor to be identified.

December 27, 2024 : Call for Prayer

Dear Timberline Church family,

I'm Roger Hageman from your Deacon Pastoral Search Team. As we move forward in our search for a new pastor, we believe prayer and fasting are essential to seeking God's guidance. We invite you to join us in this spiritual journey.

Each week, we will focus our prayers on one of five vital themes:

  • Unity within our church family
  • Spiritual Strength through this transition
  • Wisdom and Discernment in our decisions
  • Endurance throughout the process
  • Celebrating what God is doing and will do

As God's community of believers at Timberline, we trust in His faithful guidance when we seek Him. Together, let us pray with confidence, knowing that this search will bring blessings not only to our congregation, but also to our broader community.

In faith,

Roger Hageman Deacon Pastoral Search Team
