America uses 369 million gallons of gasoline per day to fuel all the cars. Without a continual fuel source, a gas-powered car can only go so far. Without continual prayer, Missions work can only go so far. A.B Simpson says,
“Prayer is the mighty engine that is to move the missionary work.”
We as the body of Christ get to be the fuel for Missions around the World because of our prayer to the Lord!
Colossians 4:3 says, “At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the Word, to declare the mystery of Christ…” The apostle Paul knew the power of prayer and how it can “open the door for the Word.”
We should also recognize that our prayers will do the very same.
All of us can pray. God has given us a gift to pray no matter our age, ability, or location. The Great Commission in Matthew 28:19-20 says, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” ALL of us get to participate in the Great Commission through prayer and the work of sharing the Gospel of Jesus to all nations!
Practical Ways to Pray for Missions:

- Join our Missions Prayer Team where you can prayer over the missionaries we partner with. If you are interested, please email us
- Make space every week for intentional prayer for Missions.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You that I get to participate in your Mission to share the good news of Jesus to the ends of the Earth through prayer. We long for the Great Commission to be complete but we recognize there are still nations who do not know You. We pray for “open doors for the Word” in those unreached nations to know You are Lord and they are saved by Your blood. We lift up the missionaries around the World, Lord give them strength, perseverance, and opportunities for Gospel sharing. Let Your good news be spread and every people group on Earth come to praise Your Holy name. Amen!
