Our Values

As a Christ-centered church, we are dedicated to the Biblical mandate to take the Gospel to all the world and make disciples of all nations. We are therefore committed to grow and support partnerships that serve others in our community and around the world.

Our involvement and investment in these partnerships are guided by the following core values:

  • Transformational rather than transactional – we believe that our efforts should be, as much as possible, grounded in transforming relationships between those serving and those being served, rather than event-centered efforts with no opportunity for continued growth.
  • Holistic rather than one-dimensional – we believe that our efforts and those of our partners should be responsive to the spiritual, economic, emotional, familial, and systemic needs of the people and communities we serve.
  • Collaborative rather than isolated – we believe that in order to be good stewards of the resources God has given us we should identify and connect local assets and help facilitate collaborations of ministries within a community.
  • Empowering rather than paternalistic – we desire to develop and support strong Christian leaders in the communities we serve rather than leading from the outside.

Timberline Church members are encouraged to participate in these global and local efforts by sacrificially offering their time, creativity and resources as Kingdom investments in the work God has allowed us to participate in. By going, praying, and giving, Timberline team members are extensions of God's grace around the world.
